Breaking Dawn: The American Myth

Produced in partnership with Shakespeare & Company, this inaugural film features the legacy of cultural strategist, anti-lynching activist, journalist, data gatherer, teacher, and civil rights pioneer Ida B. Wells (1862-1931). Through Ida B. Wells' cultural legacy, we trace the threads of how a history of violence in the deep-south eerily serves as a microcosm for our modern day context. Alongside the film, we featured Pre and Post show special episodes of The NET audiocast, featuring a chat with the cast, more information on this incredible woman, and a guided meditation looking towards the future.

Director: Peter G. Andersen
